Early this afternoon we met the Liljenquists and Gardners at the Saguaro Lake Marina for a 90-minute tour on the Desert Belle. It was a smooth ride on a beautiful warm day with a light breeze. The captain pointed out wildlife and local history. We saw a variety of small water fowl, several blue herons and their nests and turkey vultures soaring above the rocky peaks around the lake perimeter. We traveled about 5 miles up the lake and saw picturesque views of rock formations, desert vegetation, marshes and the four peaks mountain in the background.

Upon completing the boat tour we all went to Filly's Restaurant in Apache Junction for a delicious basket of bar-b-que flavored chicken wings. We finished the evening with a swim and soak in the park and a special ice cream treat that I had made.
