At the Falls
We docked at St. George's and the entire group got together again for an excursion to Seven Sisters Waterfalls for a trip that had been planned prior to the cruise. Ben and Lindsy gave Dad and I this for Christmas for which we are grateful as it was a wonderful experience. We had a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. A drive to the center of the island began a half-hour hike into the falls. The first part was easy going and then the trail got muddy, slippery, rocky and steep in places. Along the way the guide talked a lot about the various spices from Granada and had examples of raw cocoa, nutmeg, cinnamon and others to show and taste. At the falls we came with swimwear but there was no place to change. All the kids came prepared so we watched as they enjoyed a swim in the pleasantly cool pools below each of the falls. Nearly everyone did the plunge from the brink of the lower falls into the pool below. Everyone had a great time prior to hiking back for a refreshing tropical juice drink and then the ride back to the ship.
