We made it to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory today. We were here on the way up and it is one of our favorite cities on the trip. On the way we stopped at the visitor center in Haines Junction and viewed a film of what we could not see because of the smoke haze that barely let us see the outline of mountains only if they were quite close to the highway. This has been a major disappointment because the scenery would otherwise be beautiful. Thankfully it cleared up considerably by the time we got to Whitehorse. Except for one strip of construction the highway today was quite smooth with very few frost heaves to bounce over.
